Inspired by artistes such as Fela Kuti, 2face, Michael Jackson and R. Kelly whose songs are based on their experiences, he penned lyrics that focused on the socio-cultural and love issues he had absorbed and began performing them at open-mic events, which to his astonishment were well received. Renowned as a versatile artiste whose music is a fusion of influences ranging from r'n'b to reggae to dance; Jaxman's vocal abilities which include falsettos stunned his audiences, peers and family, who encouraged him to follow his dreams. He copped the name Jaxman and finally surrendered to his gift.

Jaxman debuted as a professional artiste in 2007 with a song titled 'feeling for you', produced by artiste and producer Nues. He has since released further hit singles including titled 'wale ft Ayo Rawlings'dance to my tune. He is known to perform with artistes such as 2face Idibia, Wande Coal, Biggiano and Shank, to name a few.

Jaxman  run a music label and considers it a duty to pass on his skills and experiences to the next generation and for many years has taken an interest in studying emerging trends in popular culture. Young aspirants have kept him on his toes and reinforced his potent belief that African music has the ability go beyond its current borders and reach a broader audience.

Jaxman believes in exploring modern musical forms, but his philosophy is that his nationalism must be reflected in his music through retaining his Nigerian accent, dances and visual imagery. This can be heard in his new works, particularly his fusion of technobeat and electronic dance he coined 'wale' music.
